Amy Cuddy

Amy Cuddy is an American social psychologist, author, and former Harvard Business School professor best known for her groundbreaking research on body language, non-verbal communication, and ‘power posing.’ Born in Pennsylvania, Cuddy earned her B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder and her Ph.D. from Princeton University.

While serving on the faculty at Harvard, Cuddy co-authored landmark research demonstrating that adopting expansive, confident body postures can measurably alter hormone levels and increase feelings of psychological power and stress tolerance. Her 2012 TED talk on the subject became one of the most viewed TED talks in history, inspiring millions worldwide.

She expanded these insights into her bestselling 2015 book, Presence: Bringing Your Boldest Self to Your Biggest Challenges. Despite facing early academic skepticism and personal adversity, Cuddy remains a leading voice in empowering individuals to overcome impostor syndrome and project authentic confidence.
