Max de Pree

Max de Pree (1924–2017) was an American businessman, philanthropist, and influential leadership author. As the long-time CEO of Herman Miller, he pioneered servant leadership, participative management, and corporate design excellence.

He is best known as the author of the classic business masterpiece Leadership Is an Art and Leadership Jazz, which redefined leadership not as a position of power, but as a relationship of service and stewardship.
