George S. Clason
George S. Clason was an American businessman, author, and soldier who served in the Spanish-American War. Operating a map-publishing company in Denver, he began writing a series of informational pamphlets on financial thrift using ancient Babylonian settings.
He is best known as the author of the timeless personal finance classic The Richest Man in Babylon, published in 1926. The book presents foundational wealth-building principles through engaging parables set in ancient Mesopotamia.
Clason’s simple, enduring rules of saving, investing, and debt management have guided generations of readers toward financial independence. His work remains a staple in personal finance literature.
